Keep in mind that the sell-off earlier this week was caused by less than 1% of stocks changing hands. If the strength is still in the buyers' camp, it's not by much.

Speaking internationally, You have considered most of the likely events but fail to mention what the effect of uncoupling the HK$ will have. You also don't mention the highly likely devaluation by the Chinese.

This currency crsis started with the insignificant Baht. I think it may end with the strong US Dollar. If this crsis spreads I expect interest rates to rise in all countries.
