This should liven things up...Breaking: Iran 'has second enrichment site'

Sounds like we're in a 'pretend cooperation and give'em something to chew on' phase of negotiations. These alternate with the non-cooperative phases.

Michael Ledeen is sounding very hopeful that the regime may change hands. The Qods day rallies were huge - and the government warned anybody who protested would be treated very harshly. There wasn't a shot fired in Tehran. The police were overwhelmed by the crowds, who remained peaceful but surrounded them. The whole Shia hierarchy is also protesting against Khamenei. He declared Ramadan ended on one day, the hierarchy all said, no, it ends the day afterwards - and the mosques obeyed the hierarchy.

If Mousavi got in we would see a change. Ledeen thinks he is a secularist and he has been advocating better relations with the West for years. Hamas and Hizbullah could find themselves cut off. Wouldn't that be great? Ahmedinejad's support for revolution abroad is very unpopular in Iran. The Qods day crowds were chanting: Lebanon no, Gaza no, Iran yes.

Ledeen says all this has been covered in Europe. It's gotten no attention here.
