Tom,

Sorry that was a booboo, I knew you meant sell put, to generate the income to lower your basis to get where you want to. In this market it looks like a smart move regardless of you wanting to make a position.. ~gggg~ But why the puts so far out, are you selling puts along the way say in Dec too to keep lowering your basis?? Now I know that the potential is steep if the stock moves on you, but you sell the put position out further etc.. I am gathering from reading your and Judy's posts that you are in these positions already, and adding to them.

I think my short-termness gets me in trouble a bit too much..

I think I gotcha on it.. thanks!

TT _ thanks for the tip on selling naked puts. Unfortunately I sold TXN Nov 120 puts when the stock was at 125. Got about 3 1/2 bucks and desperately hoping that TXN closes reasonably close or above 120 so that I can buy the puts back without a substantial loss.

Everything I've touched recently have turned out be disastrous - bought CPQ Jan 70, GE Jan 65 and BAC Jan 70 calls yesterday and look where they are today!.
