>> Hitting kids is Ok huh?

Nobody's talking about "hitting kids". "Spanking", as understood by most people, is a swat on the butt that is no more harmful than saying "no", and often is more effective.

>> My kids thank me over and over for raising them gently and tell me all the time how most of their friends have terrible relationships with their parents and how grateful they are that I was so gentle and supportive.

How weird. I mean, whatever. But my dad was tough, and I've never questioned his judgment about it for a millisecond. And I've never doubted that whatever was done was done with the best of intentions.

I can't imagine my son coming to me and saying, "Thanks for not spanking me"??? That's strange.

Spanking is not child abuse or torture ie "hitting kids" and sane people know it. But that would leave out most liberals as you have just illustrated.

Did your kids turn out to be hysterics too?
