IMHO the Iranians are playing with fire and they my succeed to pull the trick and be de-facto a nuclear country which will intimidate their neighbors.

One thing missing in all the analyses are the very deep distrust and even hatred between the Suni and Shia Muslim sects. As the social development of the countries in the ME are still at middle ages phase this difference can easily explode into a war which with Iran "nuclear" would make questionable a steady supply of all the ME oil supply - and after all that what Iran wants $150 oil
