Make sure to tie in TP (Tiger Paw); he'd hear none of it when I asserted lot's of good science came out of the church... it didn't stop in the MA either... IMHO Mendel's findings were much better science than Darwin's. Also, when speaking of the atrocities OR the accomplishments of Catholic Church related folks one has to take into account the environment which existed at the time... the church WAS society in many ways in many places, so to blame THEM for everything that went on is way over the top. That said, to praise them for the good things also is a bit misleading since they had the money and means to educate those within. DAK
