Does anyone know what kind of condition Dr. Koop was in when he held the office? Didn't look like he exercised much. He's still alive at the age of 92: en.wikipedia.org So he must be doing something right. The wikipedia article claims: "Currently, Dr. Koop is working on various health initiatives with his grandson, David Koop." This link has photographs of all of the past US Surgeon Generals: en.wikipedia.org For the most part.. none of them looked obese when they held the office.
