When my wife died, nearly 15 years ago, my daughter suggested we bury her mother with her wedding ring. Saying she didn't want her two daughters to one day argue over the ring. This was decided the day of the funeral. I gave the ring, along with Betty's small book of favorite prayers, to the funeral director at the burial site (Ft Logan National Cemetery). The cemetery folks wouldn't let him open the casket on federal property, so he told me they drove the hearse off the property and put the ring and book in the casket, returned and buried her. To this day, I have serious doubts that really happened.
