If you rely upon partisan haters of those people to tell you what they said you will get a very different story than reality. I doubt that you have ever experienced an entire show of either Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck. It is unlikely the author you quote did either.

As far as claiming no one on Fox News ever complained about any of the expansion of government, even you cannot believe such a lie.

If Fox News, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh were truly opposed to expanded government power, where were they when George Bush and Dick Cheney were expanding federal power in virtually every realm, driving up the national debt to unprecedented proportions, destroying middle-class economic security in order to benefit the wealthiest, and generally ensuring government intrusion into every aspect of people's lives? They were supporting it and cheering it on.

My recollection is that Bush was heavily criticized for his lack of budgetary discipline. From what I've heard Beck and Limbaugh BOTH took him to task for everything from the Education bill to Medicare Part D and lots in between.

It is certainly not shocking that the president would expand federal power during multiple wars after we were attacked in NYC.

But nobody, NOBODY has increased "federal power" on the level of our current president. The man has taken over the auto industry, large pieces of the banking industry, and now wants to take over 1/6 of our economy by taking over health care.

The remark about Bush expanding federal power is just hilarious.
