This is a close enough analogy to cash for clunkers or home buying credit that govt is providing, basically taking away from those with fuel efficient vehicles or paid off their houses, which part of that does a complex mind fail to understand?

Quite right Gib, which is why socialism is so appealing: <Simple answers are appealing to the simple-minded.> What could be simpler than "From each according to their ability, to each according to their need"? I have a nice simple slogan - "Don't let a slogan do your thinking for you". It seems so simple to have one bus company running one bus fleet to service a city, with an intelligent central planning authority to price the services and decide routes, bus types and so on. A free market of buses, with anyone running buses and other transport, seems a hopelessly complex system to the simple minded. But ironically, it's the very complex free market which is the simple solution and the very simple central planning authority which is hopelessly complex and inefficient. Mqurice
