Apple can't keep up with it's high margin, high profit businesses right now, and it's a recessionary period.

Why would they want to swap?

Give them time. They have a plan here. Cheap notebooks are not going to make Apple the dominant tech company.

This is more important to me:

>>Can I assume that you are advocating withdrawing from the computer and MP3 markets based on the fact that they are low margin, low profit categories?<<

Slacker -

I don't mean to speak for Roy, but I will point out that for Apple, computers and portable music players are NOT low margin, low profit categories.

I'm quite certain that if they could find a way to deliver a quality user experience in a four or five hundred dollar netbook, while maintaining margins, they'd do it.
