Of course, after it went south, they all changed their tunes except for GWB who remained steadfast. In the end, it was GWB's persistence that won the Iraq War and put a democracy in the center of the Middle East. Which is at least in part responsible for the recent popular uprising in Iran and ultimately, will do more toward eliminating the threat of further violence than anything else has.
