Dave, that is just such a loving and lovely story about your Dad, and really about your family. Thanks so much for sharing it....What a handsome guy he was.

It is extra special for me tonight, as I just found out that our youngest grandson in one family, signed up for the Marines today. He has started college a week or so ago, and has ALWAYS since he was a small little boy, wanted to fly. His college has a program where he can learn to fly, and go to school at the same time.... He will spend next summer at Quantico...

Thanks!

What a touching story about your dad. Did you write that poem?

You have a beautiful way with words.

This was the other poem I included in my dad's program:

Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,
But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.

Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;

For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crossed the bar.

Alfred Lord Tennyson
