The currency issue and difficulty of acquisition are formidable barriers... enough to discourage me from looking into AU.L. I'm not sure what the trigger is, but if there's enough interest in a foreign stock, nasdaq will initiate trading of ADRs, American Depositary Shares, as they did in the case of armh. At that point, the foreign stock can be purchased through normal channels in local currency.
