Chris your post consists of a load of babbling bullshit which wreaks with ignorance! Your words exhibit clearly you have a blazing unacquaintedness with the interworkings of the Internet. In short....you don't have a clue of what you talk about.

First of all the 56K Zoom modems use chips from Rockwell with technology called K56Flex! Not 56flex!

You say:

"COMS has a smart CEO, but as a company they are being elbowed aside from the big money. They will survive, but won't be so glorious next year. Same with USR and its modem."

Now pay attention here.....3Com (COMS) owns USR. They are one company.

Now can you tell us what portion of the Internet each of the following companies own? And if you care to try, also tell us the same about the WWW.

AOL, UUNET, Lucent, NT, the Baby Bells, AT&T, COMS, Worldcom and Sprint.

Also could you tell us about Brent Townshend and the lawsuit he has against Rockwell?

And the last question...are you a teenager yet?

Regards,

Scrapps

>>I believe that 56flex is a better technological solution and the x2 temporary success is due only to the previous fame of USR and the early marketing.

Here are some clues for you about your would-be saviors:

You need to have your head examined. I sure hope you are not putting any money where your mouth is.

I'm not sure how to respond to that post.
It's premise is so naive I'm inclined to think you are making jokes.

AOL, WCOM "pushed aside"? You funny.
I am no fan of AOL, but I'm smart enough to see the writing on the wall.
AOL is now big enough so they don't even have to have customer service. They don't care, they don't have too!
Unfortunately that's the sign of true domination in one's field.

AT&T and the baby Bells are dead in the water. How you could even make such a ludicrous statement is beyond me.
They will have a niche, but will not be dominant players.

For the PERFECT example of how a company had it's lunch stolen, eaten and the wrappers thrown back in it's face, you need look no farther than Zoom.

Frank "buddy-can-you-spare-a-dime" Manning has come right out in the companys press release and admitted going with Kflakes&reg has destroyed the biz.
He put his money on a bob-tail nag while the smarter players bet on the bay.
