I've heard the WWII era generation called the 'Greatest Generation.' I was a small child when the 'Greatest Generation' were in their thirties but I remember them well. I don't see people like that today. A handshake was as good as a signed contract and they would fight to the death to defend their honor. Not true in these days where people take pride in the complex spins used to caste false allegations. Of course that's only one side of that coin but it relates to what you just posted. They were also more openly violent but willing to take on responsibility, where as we now have people being abusive behind closed doors and not owning up to their responsibilities.
