"quality is being lost"

......................................

wrt quality of food in the u.s.

you have no idea how bad it really is.

this is just the tip of the iceberg.

do you know what omega 3 is? omega 6? are you aware of the amount of corn syrup that is currently being consumed in our country? and why?

have you ever tasted a tomato that tasted like a tomato? a banana that tasted like a banana. if you are too young, you have no idea what i am talking about. fruits and vegetables these days taste more like plastic than what they used to taste like in the 50's and the 60's. nutrition has been scientifically engineered out of our food supply to maximize profit. one of these days obesity and nutrition is going to be a problem in this country and all of europe will be laughing at us.

i always joke that in 1971 nixon ended gold backed currency and the shift to fiat currency. the same year the new secretary of agriculture changed our policy from encouraging crop rotation and subsidies to not grow corn, to incentives to grow as much corn as possible. we changed from a currency backed by gold to fiat currency backed by corn syrup.

financial profit at the sacrifice of nutrition and quality. so what else is new ?

anything for a dollar.
