Margarita: I had a regular account with E-trade 7 months ago. I was so disappointed and frustrated with them so I closed that account and transferred to Datek. Comparing the two, Datek is much much better. Although they also suffer some growing pain, at least they have spent, and have been continuously spending, lots of money to update their system. I think Datek is the best choice for deep-discount brokers. The only thing is that they don't have options now. E-trade spent much more money on aggressive advertisement than on updating their system. This is really awful. They don't care their existing customers at all, because they have so many new ones. They can make more than enough money just by cheating everybody once. I think people on this thread should just switch their account instead of wasting their precious time here to complain. Because of E-trade never listens. And BTW, unlike E-trade who charged $20 for closing account, Datek won't charge anything. So if after you try it, you don't like them, you can always switch. It won't cost you a penny. Good luck.
