"Is the 'game' actually worth the candle?" First of all, I gotta tell ya' it bothers me that I don't know what the heck that means. If that's a literary reference I musta never read that book. The REST of your post seems to be saying "if we can't beat them in THEIR neighborhood we should just get completely out of the area." The Los Angeles police have never been able to completely eliminate the "gangs" of South LA. Would you recommend that they get rid of the LA police? If we get out of Afghanistan we aren't going back. All this BS about having drones around and some troops to monitor Al Quaeda is TOTAL BS. 18 months after we pull out of Afghanistan it will once again become a Muslim State run by those fundamentalist animals that throw acid in the faces of little girls that want to go to school. It will ALSO become the place where they plan the overthrow of Pakistan.
