As you might also know from my rants and raves, I believe we are seeing a big shift in consumer acceptance of software.

Software has reached the consumable/disposable age, and is being priced accordingly. I will admit this is something I still struggle with occasionally - I'm just old enough to remember the sheer outright commitment implied by a $1000 desktop publishing app - but it's clear from watching the kids that they view software as just another branded disposable.

Creating software has come down from the clouds and become a trade, like being an electrician or a plumber. Only not as well paid. ;)

if they are smart they will make them and the Apps Store the cornerstone of the new tablet platform
