We had a graduating class of about 100 kids. We celebrated our 55th reunion in late June with about 30 people, many of them spouses that didn't go to school with the rest of us. I'm not aware of any of my "drinking buddies" becoming alcoholic. Of my closest 6 or 8 friends, 5 have died. All from natural causes, as far as I know. Cancer being the primary reason for many of them. Those of us that still live in the vicinity get together the last Saturday of June, every year, for a picnic. The number gets smaller each year, but we still had a couple dozen the last 2 or 3 years. One thing that was very noticeable at the reunion was how many classmates remained relatively thin... at least not fat, with only a couple exceptions. All of us are probably 20 or 25 points heavier, but no one was an obvious blob.
