Interesting - you are bringing out yet another shortcoming in the study. I assumed that they used a list consisting of both members and non-members of the AMA. If the list consisted only of members, that may have caused an additional bias, as you correctly point out. That's an important point, and the researchers had to be more specific. That was sloppy. Almost feel like writing to NEJM's editor.

Had I known it was from AMA that would have changed things from the outset. We know where AMA stands, and we KNOW AMA is not representative of physicians at large.

You STILL didn't read it. It was from the AMAs list of ALL physicians... not AMA members. Jeez
