It's an impossible hurdle...anytime there is a widespread disaster such as Katrina and thousands of people are receiving public moneys the expectation that none would be mis-spent is irrational heartlessness...the man is either an idiot or a rube.


It isn't about "NONE" being mis-spent. It was a tremendous waste of money.

The problem is/was that there was no accounting control over the funds. The guy supported the expenditure (and had already supported a $10B funding measure). He just didn't want to see it wasted. And he is right. It was.

The point is that he is being criticized by the left for wanting to bring some fiscal responsibility to the process.
