I guess they really didn't care about the U.S. soldiers...

They never have and they never will. Body counts and pictures of flag drapped coffins are no longer important now that the One is in.

Sadly many of these coffins are due to this jackass we elected and his ROE.

Really?

(Since the US committed itself to full withdrawal and sovereignty was transferred to Iraq's government I believe that peoples' fears of semi-permanent US military occupation in Iraq have been adequately allayed, and that folks are quite willing --- especially considering the massive amount of national treasure, some $1 Trillion, and tremendous sacrifice and loss of life we have suffered --- to give sufficient time for an orderly and reasoned withdrawal period.)

After all, after all that sacrifice and expense... wouldn't want to run the risk of wasting whatever gains we may have made by being silly or precipitous right at the end.

Seriously --- the Pentagon simply would not be able to even pull all of the *equipment* out, (let along the troops safely), in anything much short of a year or a year and a half....

At least, that is what the Pentagon has advised, and we have made the commitment to at least be there in force through the elections at year-end.
