Given what he's raised already I'm guessing he'll run and have a decent chance. There are very few people that understand the financial system these days. Everyone always complains, but then never does anything. I agree in terms of DD on the man. There's one level I'll donate at regardless (who could be worse than Dodd?), then there's another much more substantial level if I can meet him (along w/some family/friends) and have lunch/dinner and see what he's about. Given the amount I could/plan on donating I think I have decent odds.

We need more people like him coming out of the private sector being willing to do this and fewer career politicians. But you're right everyone needs to decide for themselves. I'm tired of just calling reps, or sending out faxes (sadly which is still more than most). This feels more substantial and I think he'll speak for investors in general and a sound financial system. I think we're on the brink if we keep heading down the bailout path. Each crisis will get progressively worse. Guess having small kids makes this crisis more urgent in my mind. We've popped every bubble possible. The only thing left is confidence in the US Dollar itself. Schiff understand this, but very few others in congress (even if they're anti-Fed) understand how close we are to really, really bad scenarios.
