The part you quoted seems like an accurate description of the threats to Windows. How is that out of touch?

I wasn't referring to that quote as an an example of being out of touch, more like his belief that Windows has gained market share this year over the Mac, the descriptions of Chrome and Safari share as "rounding errors" and things he's done in the past, like laughing off the iPhone before it had even come out.

I think Ballmer is a buffoon, MSFT has been dead money as a stock investment for a decade. If that's not out of touch, I don't know what is. He obviously isn't good at running the company. The board and shareholders would be wise to dump him, but I hope they never do. A Captain Ahab like that running the Microsoft ship is the best thing Apple investors could hope for.

I was laughing at that quote because of his use of the words "vector" and "attack" and especially this line: "You can attack through phones that grow up. You know, mama don’t let your phones grow up to be PCs or something. I don’t know."
