Qwest Communications Senior Notes Rated
'B+' by S&P; 'BB-' CCR Affirmed
biz.yahoo.com

This is a damn good rating in my opinion on an otherwise riskier expansion from a facilities construction company to a nationwide telecommunications carrier. What it means is that Qwest has got their act together. It is particularly ironic that two companies noted as competitors in the SI profile WorldCom and Frontier had actually signed contracts with Qwest and were described as "condominium-like arrangements" that "spread the construction financing risk"

I must sound like a cheerleader for Qwest by now, but I just think they have the sweet spot right now, and things just keeps getting better. Seeing where they're headed, I would not be surprised if they were already the envy of the industry.
