100,000 or 200,000 - it doesn't make a point re. whether our system is inferior to other countries systems.

You'd have to compare rates of mistakes per population in various countries and the stats don't exist. Thats why you see such wide variation in claims of medical mistakes in the US - 100K v 200K. Both numbers are guesses. If someone were identifying and tracking such things, it would be pinned down better than 100 - 200K.
