I have both--my discount broker for options is Schwab500--am happy with them despite all the recent criticism--but then I did not use them last Monday or Tuesday--I stayed the hell out of the markets. I use my full service broker to a very limited extent--I stay with him more out of a sense of loyalty. I also have the flexibility that if I am not able to access Schwab one day--I can always fall back on the full-service firm. They also provide me with research reports -- dozens of them every week.
