We are living in a relatively young nation that has prospered by a reputation of moving on with progressive endorsement of ideas which produce terrific solutions. Among these, however, have also been some pretty major and regrettable circumstances such as, Genocide of American Indians, slavery, and our part major conflicts. We will quickly age, stagnate, and halt in our ability to lead in innovations if we can't own up to that fact.

I saw an article not long ago which noted there was excitement about doing something great only a few generations ago. Conversations among recent immigrants was centered around far flung dreams. And the stories that came from those times was full of dreams being realized. Have we changed? Do we no longer believe we are the land of opportunity?
