Steve, there are too many powerful special interests who want to see America continuing to support Israel. IMO, most of the Jewish lobby is very nuanced (in the true sense of the word, not the way liberals think of themselves), supporting neither a buckaroo neocon policy toward Israel's enemies nor the "Bentway doctrine" of moving Jews to the Falklands. Even Soros bases his left-wing ideology on the assumption that Israel has and will continue to exist with the world's help. (Of course, it's hard to tell who Soros considers the bigger threat: Hamas and Hezbollah, or right-wing Jews like Netenyahu.) That's why I don't think Obama can and will throw Israel to Iran. His left-wing buddies in ACORN and Chicago are nothing. Obama is now dealing with the big boys, and slick speeches aren't going to help. Tenchusatsu
