It does not matter what you post about Kurlak. The fact is I was on
the Kurlak Merrill Lynch call when he questioned Intel's ability to
make the quarter. I immediately sold my entire Intel position at
$93+ and took a profit on the stock. I was especially concerned
about Kurlak's point that consumers were buying low priced personal
computers and Intel could have mucho trouble getting buyers to
pay up for P-II based machines in 1998. This is the reason he
is forecasting a possible down earnings year in 1998 with a
low estimate of as little as $3.60. That would make the current
p/e on Intel at 76 a very hefty and generous 21X next year.
If Intel cracks the 72-73 support level for real (not like Tuesday)
Intel shareholders could be in for a very unhappy experience.
Intel at this multiple? No thanks. I am happy with my $93 saleprice.
