I think its due more to the "Dimming of America" syndrome...

One of the results of being about 26th in Global academics as compared to 30 years ago being about 5th or 6th.

energyplay,
It was a complete misunderstanding on my part about Princeton Economics being a department of the university. I wasn't trying to be an elitist. I just thought an educated person would know the difference between "there" & "their", "know" & "no", "your & you're".

And god knows, I sure make many mistakes. Also, one of the "smartest" persons I knew was an inventor from the backwoods of TN who was worth a couple of $mil in the early '50's and another who was well educated but had the common sense of ameoba.

I now try to evaluate documents by how well they are informed of the outside real world, and I rely much less on internal consistency and style.
This is a very wise statement in view of the dumbing down of educational system we now have.

Also, thanks for you input on SI.
Best,
Bill
