I would say yes and no-lol. Africa started to dry up 5 million years ago and grasslands replaced forests. Grasslands are 100 times more food productive than jungles. So large herds of animals evolved.

We dropped out of the trees (as apes (450 CC brain is an ape in my book-lol) and started eating meat. Our brains doubled in size (from 450 CC to about 900 CC), we lost our bellies and grew to 6'. We stayed that way for the next two million years.

I think that is roughly correct.
