I think everyone has always been funnier than Letterman. I had a girlfriend in 1982 that loved Letterman then - wonder if she ever got over that. The top ten thing he did was often funny, but all the gimmicky "quirky" things .... just seemed eccentric and boring to me.

Conan has always been much funnier than Letterman.

None on 'em, including Leno, are fit to even shine Carson's shoes. Late night comedy has been a wasteland since he retired in 1992.
