when do you think the P2 (say a 233)will be "the" chip of the sub-$1000 computer. By the sounds of the yields and the price drops could it be early 1999?

I think P2-233 will be in sub-$1000 computers in Q4 98, if not earlier. Dell will get a sweetheart price of $80 in order to stay with "Intel Inside"

If you ignore the monitor, I'd bet by middle to late 1998 Intel will have some customers selling the P2/233 MHz in a box for under $1000.
