Some, like Beck, are riding the waves of the conspiracy buffs. And that doesn't really play well for the Republican party. Note that recently Beck has been railing against corporate control of Washington. Which gives me some pause, I have to admit. I think that is the case, but being on the same crazy train as Beck is enough to make me reconsider...

I don't follow Beck that closely, but it sounds like there isn't a conspiracy game he can't embrace. If you do the shotgun approach, you are eventually going to hit one. But the collateral damage is significant.

"These guys are sucking the Republican party dry; putting them to the right of notorious nuts like the John Birch Society. "

Not totally true.

That's just it with Beck. He isn't necessarily all that rightwing. In fact, if you read his history, he's been pretty much apolitical most of his life. What he likes to do is stir up the pot......get people agitated. He's been doing the same since he was a badly strung out 'zoo' DJ since the early 80s. As he became tired of DJing, he began to turn to talk radio in the late 90s, and of course, most talk radio guys are righties. So rightwing became his stick with a conspiracy twist to it. I suspect he's mostly in it for the notoriety and attention......and I think that's why Lindsey Graham and other R politicians are attacking him.
