I do not know how one could support and defend the constitution by overthrowing a duly elected government.

There are many arguments about constitutional government and whether what the government does is constitutional. We have a court to decide these things.

I do not believe most of what had been done by the government for the last 30 years is constitutional. If I am an officer in the army, does that give me the right to over throw the government.

Seems like a recipe for perpetual military dictatorship to me.
