That's where we disagree. This is PRECISELY the reason he ran for president.

No, perhaps he didn't expect it would be called "the stimulus". But from Day One his objective was a wild spending spree. I have never doubted that for one microsecond.

The economy gave him the fastest possible vehicle, but the race was scheduled four years ago.

It's as if a hurricane or a war happened on his watch. You can't attribute the cost of those to the sitting president, seems to me.

Lane, I have the deepest respect for your posts as being amongst the most level-headed and even-handed I've seen on SI.

But I'm telling you -- this guy had his heart set on spending this country into bankruptcy and the stimulus is the first installment. (Unless control of Congress can be taken back, there WILL, imo, be additional installments coming).
