SAN FRANCISCO ? With just 17 days to go before the nation's first mandatory composting law goes into effect here, most of the eye-rolling is over.

we've had mandatory recycling of greens for a few years here in Seattle. As well as all paper, most plastic, and all cans.

All green, clippings, waste veggies, etc. get composted and resold as mulch and soil amendments.

Just visited Mom in Tulsa...they recycle nothing. The city says it's too expensive to gear up for...(head in the sand)
