Peter, i believe the problem is that your definition of "good" is flawed, as is mine.

*if* god exists, our experience is not a grain of sand amongst all the grains of sand on the planet. i'd say he's more qualified to make that decision than you or i.

and if i'm correct, all those people he killed will be resurrected into a much better state. from their perspective, it will be an immediate transformation b/c they are effectively asleep while dead - think your perception between falling asleep and waking up in the morning.

viewing it like this, god reduced their time of misery (and prevented untold human sacrifices) before they are resurrected into much better circumstances.

think of it like knocking someone out before surgery so they don't feel the pain of the procedure to get the benefits of the procedure. we effectively kill a certain amount of limited consciousness, but it isn't evil to do so. we do it for good reason - and for the benefit of the person being knocked out.

of course, you have to believe that god will resurrect the dead as he says he will or it does seem very unfair from our perspective.

"But maybe it's because I believe you can find good people in any place, now matter how "bad" that place has become, and thus not everyone needs your brand of "justice."

The justice system you participate in believes sex offenders should be rehabilitated despite overwhelming evidence that it simply can't be done. How's that working out for the new victims? Oh yeah, in your system of justice victims have no rights, only offenders do.
