No one was having sex with anyone in that blurb. The characters in your blurb were a child, a grandfather, the grandfathers sister-in-law, and a cat - who do you imagine was having sex with whom? No, elementary school kids don't need to be taught about gay relationships in school. Of course they do.......and they are in those parts of the country where free thinking is permitted.
