He dropped the top bracket rate by 20 percentage points.

And between 1961 and 1968 revenues rose from $94B ro $153B, as 62% increase.

But the point is that Kennedy, liberal though he was, had the good sense to acknowledge the "paradoxical truth" that high tax rates stifle economic growth.

I suppose your point is there is some level below which further tax cuts won't increase revenue, and that is, of course true (anyone looking at the Laffer Curve can see this). However, we are nowhere near that point right now and will be well beyond it after next year's tax increases.
