Charger, I really am not trying to blow you off, but talking about technical analysis of a chart when we cannot both be looking at that chart is like trying to describe a landscape painting verbally--might be able to do it superfically, but not in enough depth for you to know what I'm talking about. I would suggest looking at some of the free TA sites to at least get a feel for what the words mean--but then I dont use anything that is available free on the internet--Elliot wave and Gann is pretty esoteric--the software alone is $2750--and that is just end of day type. The real-time version cant be bought--only leased for $3000 per year plus $300/mo. data feed. The overbought-oversold oscillators can be averages of ANY time frame you want to set. The short term one I was refering to is an 8 day average--and that is oversold. The longer term ones that I set are 21 day, 34 day and 55 day. These longer averages are not oversold, but rather are still rising . On that 0-100 scale, anything below 20 is oversold, anything over 80 is overbought. The 8 day oscillator that was 7 yesterday is 12 today. The 21 day is 63, the 34 day is 68, the 55 day is 57. The 3 longer term oscillators had been steadily rising, but are now starting to turn down. Need something to drive the price up to turn these around. These oscillors are not simple Stochastics or RSI (relative strength index), but are sort of a combination of the two--a Stochastic of the stocks Relative Strength. Is more accurate then either is separately in picking tops and bottoms. TA doesnt help in picking a stock other than for a real short term move--but after using FA to pick a stock, use TA to time entry and exit and anyone will do better than buying or selling by "feeling" or by seat of the pants. If you're seriously interested in TA, be prepared to spend hundreds if not thousands of hours learning it. This is one area where a little bit of knowledge will only get you into trouble. Those that say TA is of no value are usually those who got a tiny bit of knowledge and tried to trade with it and lost money, then blame TA for their lack of knowledge. TA is a tool, and if you dont know how to use that tool, it might as well be a doorstop. Regards, Gary
