A tour at Nato is good for most honorable military officers to see how weasels operate. (Ramsey Clark is an exception.) Joes is still well respected by Marines both active and non active duty. I believe that he believes what he is saying. I also believe that he has a much better perspective than Obama or you or I. McChrystal may be offering Obama a third option of forced resignation and one more chance to install a leader who must then live up to high standards or immediately destroy moral. I don't know military culture, but I know the dynamics of groups. If Obama picked d weasel like Clark then we might as well turn the mission over to another country who had some testicular fortitude. That would be Britain; it might heal the bruised egos over retreat in Iraq.
