Mony93, Both AMAT and NVLS are problem-solvers for the Chip industry. The more problems the more to solve and the more money to earn... As Chips become cheaper and thus more in demand, the Chip manufacturer with the help of the Chip-Equipment maker seek ways to manufacture more Chips. So we can be sure AMAT and NVLS will be busy for a long long time.

You asked if I foresee NVLS overtaking AMAT. Although I know NVLS follow closely the footsteps of the leader (it even time its Splits to coincide with AMAT's) and being the much smaller company--- at times seem to outperform AMAT in growth and stock price, I don't see much chance for the former to dislodge the leader. Do you believe in this:---the Rich become Richer? That it takes tremendous effort for a Less Rich to overtake the already richer? AMAT keep Cash at all times ($1.1B at last report) and in downturns, acquire smaller companies at bargain prices that help the company get back to its feet later; Nvls do that also but at a lesser extent...
