Democratic congressman Alan Grayson beat the Republicans at their own game last week, when he ripped into them for dragging their feet on the American healthcare crisis. On the floor of the House of Representatives, he summarised the Republican healthcare plan as: "Don't get sick, and if you do get sick, die quickly." It has caught Republicans like a deer in the headlights, understandably so because Republicans are not used to Democrats with guts. He's the new version of Barney Frank......and surprisingly from central FLA no less. FLA is going purple faster than I thought.

The internet age provides as much potential for political self-harm as it does opportunity, but Grayson seems happy to take the heat. Democrats need representatives who genuinely believe in liberal values, who have the courage to fight for their beliefs, and who won't prioritise political expediency over doing their job the right way. "We need Democrats with guts," Grayson said of the whole matter. He's right. Excellent, excellent article! I am going to post it over at the Obama thread.
