WASHINGTON, Oct 5 (Reuters) - The U.S. Defense Logistics Agency said on Monday that it sold no surplus cobalt during the month of September.

Under the procedure for the agency's Internet auctions, when the DLA decides a sale is going to take place during a week, it normally posts the amount of cobalt being offered on Tuesday by 11:30 a.m. EDT (1530 GMT), with bids due by 1:30 p.m. EDT (1730 GMT) the following day.

Around the fifth of each month, the DLA publishes the total amount of cobalt sold in the prior month and dollar value as well as the winning companies on its Web site: dnsc.dla.mil.
