That said, I agree that we are in the early stages of a huge gold bull market.

How Earlie, Early?

How Huge, Hugh?

Who are We?

How Bull, Bill?

I have no clue, Earlie -- how long it will take to work through the excesses and I don't think justice ever comes for a lot of the crooks until after this life ... buuuuut ... I am already seeing some signs that some excesses are being worked on.

Take construction equipment for instance. On my drive into town -- I see the excesses being worked through already -- a number of fields full of equipment that is being auctioned off at a greatly reduced rate. While the government continues to interfere with the markets clearing -- they will clear none-the-less. As I drive past the car dealerships -- the ones that are still open -- I see back lots chuck full of used cars and cars with CFC on the windows -- I can't imagine all these cars marked CFC really will be destroyed or that the government will actually pay all of these dealerships. Houses are coming down very nicely in price around here -- new ones or those finished right before the bottom fell out are still too high, but it is going to happen. We will know a lot more when the second shoe falls in the spring -- then we will get a sense of how prolonged this will be. We've just had a taste of recession so far -- even with unemployment where it is.

Also, the craziness of the legislation currently before the congress has entered the twilight zone -- we'll get a further indication of how drawn out this is going to be by what O is able to slip past the nose of thinking people. I think his political capital is about spent. I think there is a chance that there will NOT be any healthcare bill. The media are trying to ramrod this down our throats, but seniors are going to say no. I don't have the coverage I like and I know some folks that are "naked" when it comes to healthcare -- but still against it. We shall see -- if this doesn't get passed or is sufficiently watered down. O's ability to screw things up further will be very limited, imo.
