<Well, this whole god belief stuff is such nonsense. We know we evolved from apes pure and simple. Just like we know evolution is a fact of life.>

Evolution happens.... god or no god is open to question for many of course. As I said before, all the argument is about "which one". you can't deny "God" intellectually without defining god. That would leave all the other non-defined possibilities open to question.

A very good post. However, the facts of evolution, etc. do not erase all the "unknown" facts which are waiting to be discovered--whether about gods or other universes. But the facts we DO have DO indeed cancel out infantile notions that would dishonor known facts, if true. Thus, transparent tribal ideas of ridiculous and obscene "gods" deserve no serious consideration from any rational being. When it is OBVIOUS one is dealing with primitive tribal superstitions, it is just nonsensical to make more of it. Such a duck won't fly no matter how many feathers you glue on the wings.

When one comes across such as the bible which is a vulgar book peopled with "demons" talking donkeys, and primitive ignorance which goes so far beyond repulsive that it reaches the level of amusement--one dishonors ones mind and ones humanity to afford it other than well-justified scorn.

Actually a personal God makes more sense than the alternatives. Why else does consciousness exist?

The universe is designed very precisely so that life can exist in a tiny part of it. That this is accident is incredibly far-fetched.

Continuing, that life can attain consciousness is as miraculous as the existence of life itself. Again, that hardly seems likely to be accidental either.

So we're talking about life and conscious life as intended by someone or something. What kind of something would intend conscious life? A personal God seems most likely.

------------------
That the universe is big (in comparison to us) and old (in comparison to us) and that a long (to us) process was used to get us here really only is relevant to ourselves, not to our creator.
